District Elementary Parent Handbook

Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year!

Dear Parents and Students,

On behalf of the entire IVE staff, welcome to Issaquah Valley Elementary! We are so happy you are a part of our diverse community. As a school, we are dedicated to carrying out our mission of providing a safe, supportive and inclusive environment. To this end, we teach our students to live by our Cougar Code of being respectful, responsible, safe and kind.  We also take pride in our efforts to build life-long learners with access to high-quality teaching.

As we prepare for the 2025-26 school year, the following are a few important dates at IVE to keep on your calendars:

  • August 26: Teacher name available on Family Access at 4 p.m.
  • August 27: Meet the Teacher at IVE 9:30-10:30 a.m.
  • August 28: First Day of School for 1st -5th graders and school starts at 9:15 a.m.
  • August 28-29 & Sept 2: Kindergarten Connection Meetings (meeting days/times will vary)
  • September 1: No School- on observance of Labor Day
  • September 3: First Day of School for Kindergarteners school starts at 9:15 a.m.
  • September 10: Curriculum Night (K-5)
  • September 18-19: Picture Day for Students and Staff

Weekly Bell Schedule

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday- school day is 9:15 a.m. – 3:40 p.m.
  • Wednesday- school is 9:15 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

We encourage all families to be an active participant in your child’s education. We appreciate your support and encourage you to visit our website to find district information throughout the year. We also encourage families to sign up for the weekly bulletin to receive communication from the school and become members of our PTA.
