Dear Caregiver
We are always growing and learning as a school community. As a valuable member of our community, we would like you to share your experiences as a caregiver at Issaquah Valley Elementary.

District
The safety of all our students and staff is a top priority. Recent events locally and around the world remind me of the importance of creating an environment where all members of our school community engage in learning and care for each other. We are aware that students in our district shared social media posts about student-led walkouts at some of our high schools and middle schools on Nov. 29.
In November's community update video, Superintendent Heather Tow-Yick shares about her gratitude and also about Care Solace, which is partnering with the district to help connect students, staff, and families with providers for mental health and substance abuse. Their service is available every day of the year, and in more than 200 languages.
As a reminder, we hope to hear from parents, guardians, staff and students about what "Authentic Engagement" means to you. More than 80% of the people who have participated in the ThoughtExchange so far are students, which we love; however, we would value additional parent, staff and community response as well.
Issaquah School District is excited to share a new partnership with Care Solace, a central hub that connects students, staff and their families to mental health and substance use care. Care Solace can quickly help find therapists, programs, make appointments, and navigate insurance (even for those without insurance) matched to the patient’s needs. The district will host an online event via Zoom to offer families more information about Care Solace at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 4.
The Cultural and Family Partnerships team will host a virtual college/post-high school education financial aid information night for families of students in grades 9-12 at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 29 on Zoom.
